What will get your attention with the TaylorMade R11 driver is not only that you can make multiple adjustments to the 3 dimensions of distance, but that these adjustments can be made
independently of each other. For example, let's say you have the driver hitting with a
draw bias but it is a little low in trajectory. No problem, adjust the loft and your done.
The club will hit the same but with a higher trajectory. And one more thing, this can all be done at the
driving range quickly and easily with the included wrench. You can fine tune the driver to your liking
right there on the spot.
The TaylorMade R11 will allow
adjustments to be made to truly conform itself to your swing. TaylorMade has taken adjustability farther than it
has ever been taken. The R11 is built to independently adjust the 3 dimensions of distance - loft, face angle, and
flight path. You will also find a new aerodynamic shape which promotes faster swing speed and further distance. As
well as a new color scheme sporting a white crown and black club face.
Key Features:
- Adjust the location of the club's center of gravity with Movable Weight
Technology
- Adjust the loft in precise increments with Flight Control
Technology
- Adjust the face angle with the new Adjustable Sole Plate
- Able to adjust for up to 100 yards of side-to-side trajectory change and plus
or minus 1000 RPM backspin change
- The science behind the new matte white crown finish and the black club face
allow for better and easier alignment
"I've never been so dialed in on the tee box. The fitting was quick and simple, three steps and
it was totally customized to my swing. I can't wait to bring this driver out on Tour"
Dustin Johnson, PGA Tour Professional
See how touring pro Dustin Johnson goes through the step by step process to adjust the
TaylorMade to his swing.
It's Easy to Adjust the TaylorMade
R11
Adjust Your Loft
The Flight Control Technology will allow your launch
angle to be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the driver's loft by 1 degree higher or 1 degree lower. In
addition, these changes in loft can be adjusted in very precise increments. You will have 8 positions to adjust
between the 1 degree higher and 1 degree lower. The more you fine tune the TaylorMade R11 to your swing the better
chance you will have for lower scores.
Adjust Your Face Angle
The Adjustable Sole Plate technology allows you to adjust the angle that the club
face meets the ball at contact. The R11 can be your club for years
to come even as your swing goes through natural changes. The technology of the R11 will allow you to open or
close the face angle by 2 degrees. Like all the adjustments, this is independent of the loft and flight
path.
Adjust Your Flight Path
Movable Weight Technology will allow you to move the driver's center of gravity to
initiate either a draw or neutral ball flight. You will move the 10-gram weight and 1-gram
weight between the heel and toe to determine the best ball flight for your swing. There are also
optional 4-gram and 6-gram weights that can be purchased.
How to Tune Your TaylorMade R11 Driver
If you already own it or plan on buying one, your probably going to
want to know a game plan for getting the R11 tuned to your golf swing. Remember also that this is not
necessarily a 1 time set it and forget it. You may make adjustments for the course you are playing or based
on the weather conditions. You should firstly approach this by going to the driving range. This will
allow you to be able to take your time on each shot and see how the settings are affecting the ball
flight. Since each adjustment is independent of the other
adjustments, you can work on each adjustment one at a time. If possible, bring a friend with you because
having another set of eyes might see something in your swing or the adjustments that your not catching.
Consider this a process and take as many driving range sessions as needed to tune it best to your swing. You
will probably be playing rounds during this time as well, so just go with the settings at the time and see how you
hit it under real course play. It's important you take your on course experiences back to the range for
better practice and tuning. With the included tool the adjustment
process is easy, but remember that when you are playing an actual round of golf you will not be able to make
changes once the round starts. Check out the official TaylorMade R11 tuning charts so
you'll have an idea of where you should start in the process based on your current golf swing. Most of the
attention is going to the driver, but let's take a quick look at the other clubs. The fairway wood allows
adjustments to the loft and face angle (no movable weights, these are only available on the driver). The
rescue 11 hybrid allows adjustments for the loft (it's weight distribution is set up for a neutral bias). The
irons do not have any adjustments available (they are designed for maximum forgiveness).
Some view points say this is all a gimmick. If you buy a club
from another manufacturer you have to decide at the time of purchase what degree loft and whether you want a
neutral or draw face angle. What if the specs you buy are not quite the right fit for your swing. And
if they are right at the time, what if your swing changes 6 months down the road and you no longer want that draw
bias. That's why the TaylorMade R11 Driver is a game changer.
Aero Shaped and White
While other factors play a role, distance is greatly influenced by club head
speed. The TaylorMade R11 has a new advanced aerodynamic club head that reduces drag and increases head
speed. The science behind the white matte crown and the contrasting black club face makes the R11 very easy
to align accurately at address. The matte white also reduces hot spots and glare.
